To update the firmware on the PACMod, first gain access to the front panel of the PACMod unit. The location of the PACMod varies with each model vehicle. 

Step-by-step guide

  1. If AutonomouStuff indicates that a new firmware release is available, please contact support@autonomoustuff.com to obtain the new firmware file.
  2. To update the PACMod’s firmware, you must first gain access to the PACMod enclosure. This process will depend on the vehicle being used. For the Polaris GEM, remove the plastic clips around the top outside of the dash. Once these are removed, angle up the top dash panel and you will see the PACMod mounted underneath.
  3. The PACMod enclosure is a black aluminum case with several connectors attached. There should also be a USB cable coming out of it. Alternatively, some enclosures have a USB port, to which a cable must be inserted. Plug the other end of the cable into a PC and it should
  4. After gaining access to the front panel of the PACMod, use a USB 2.0 B cable to the port as seen in Figure 1 and connect to a computer.
  5. The PACMod will show up as a removable drive . In the drive, remove entitled “MBED.” Delete the existing .bin bin” file you find there and replace it with the new firmware most current “.bin” file provided by AutonomouStuff.

    Next unplug

    Eject the PACMod from the computer and remove the USB

    cable. Once this is done, press

    2.0 B cable. Use Figure 2 for reference.

  6. Perform a reset of the PACMod by pressing the red button on the outside of the PACMod to perform a reset. Reattach the dash panel and you should be ready to test the new firmware.

  1. front panel as seen in Figure 2.1. The firmware on the PACMod has now been successfully updated. Replace any panels or components that may have been removed to gain access to the front panel using the appropriate guidance material.
